Adam Lanza's Aunt also described the mother as a survivalist who legally owned at least five guns including the Bushmaster semi-automatic rifle.
The Bushmaster was the primary weapon used to kill the children - most of them were shot several times.
Nancy apparently was prepping for what can happen down the line, when the economy collapses.

First rule of gun safety KEEP THEM SECURE AT ALL TIMES. The only person that should have been able to get them would be the legal owner. If you can spend that kind of money buying them you BEST be able to buy a secure storage area for them.
It is good to be prepared to help yourself some folks take it to the extreme. Of course if you have MONEY to spend its easy to do.
When you know you have somebody in your home who is fragile, those guns should be locked away, in many layers of locks.
2 anon: I agree. This is why they make trigger locks and gun safes.
